Teaching methods

All practical placements will be supervised. The student will receive information, a tour and advisement on the ward and in the hospital in terms of learning outcomes and content, and carry out paediatric nursing with a placement supervisor / contact nurse in the various paediatric wards. Focus is determined by the ward's specialisations and particular character. The student will write their own goals, plan their own rota and participate in practical theory classes.

The placement supervisor has responsibility for continual supervision in terms of the placement location's specialisations and particular character. The teacher, in cooperation with the placement supervisor, has responsibility for supervision and assessment of the student. Further information is found in the course booklet which will be made available to the students via the Canvas learning management system.

Reflection groups consist of students, placement supervisors and the teacher.

Clinical studies are compulsory (requiring 90% attendance). Participation in the reflection groups and practical theory classes count as a part of the practical studies and are also compulsory.

Further information is found in the course booklet which will be made available to the students via the Canvas learning management system.
