OF-106. In addition, all requirements for beginning the third year of the study programme must be fulfilled.
Course contents
The bachelor thesis shall be independent work on a topic within translation studies. The thesis must contain an empirical analysis. Information on technical requirements relating to the thesis will be provided in a separate document.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, students will be able to

formulate research questions within translation studies

use scientific research methods

design and complete a small-scale research project

present their practical and theoretical knowledge within translation studies, both orally and in writing
Examination requirements
Obligatory supervision: 2 individual sessions.
Oral midway presentation of each student’s thesis must be completed and passed. Requirements relating to the presentation will be provided in a separate document.
Teaching methods
Supervision individually and in groups. Two obligatory individual supervisory sessions. Seminars. Workload: 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written bachelor theses. Graded assessment.
Obligatory oral presentation of the bachelor thesis, followed by discussion. The result of the oral part of the examination will have an adjusting effect on the grade given for the thesis.
