Course contents

Mobile education offers life-long learning anywhere and at any time

Students learn how to enhance E-learning solutions by including meaningful components that take advantage of mobile technology. The course enhances students’ awareness of future opportunities that are important to follow.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #4 wants to ensure that all have access to free, equitable, and quality education. This course investigates how we can design mobile learning experiences, enabling others to develop their skills and knowledge.

Learning outcomes

After successfully completing the course, the student should:

· Understand the fundamentals of lifelong learning and mobile education

· Have awareness of key drivers for the future of mobile learning

· Have knowledge of predictions for the future work market and its requirements

· Be able to use, recommend, or create online resources in a variety of educational settings

· Have awareness of relevant free and open-source tools and technologies

· Have capability to recommend mobile learning initiatives, programs, and strategies

· Be able to facilitate social relations in a digital learning environment.

· Be able to train and teach the skills and knowledge attained throughout the course

· Be able to apply mobile learning for personal competence development

Teaching methods

Lectures, self-study, seminars, and exercises.Estimated student workload: 200 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with the student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation following the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Admission Requirement if given as Single Standing Module

The admission requirements for the course are the same as for the master's programme in Multimedia and Educational Technology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Portfolio assessment. Information about requirements for the portfolio will be given in the LMS. Graded assessment.
