Norwegian and English. Lectures are in Norwegian. Textbooks are in English, and international students are offered special tuition in English

Recommended prerequisites

DAT101 Introduction to programming and/or DAT200 Computer Graphics.

Course contents

Visual expressions. Modelling principles and techniques. Lighting and texturing. Camera theory. Animation and animation principles. Compositing. The last half of the semester consists of project work based on the first part of the course.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the students should:

  • master 3D modelling and modelling principles in an acknowledged 3D graphics application.

  • master lighting and texturing of 3D models.

  • master camera and animation techniques necessary to make visualization of 3D models

Examination requirements

Compulsory assignments. Information about compulsory assignments will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Teaching methods

Lectures and laboratory teaching/exercises. Expected student workload is approximately 200 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

Project work done individually or in groups counts 70 % of the final grade. The oral presentation counts 30 % of the final grade. Graded assessment. Individual assessment. Information about the requirements of the project report will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester. It is not allowed to deliver improved versions of the project in connection with new or postponed examinations.
