  • Advanced with respect to research designs

  • Power calculations

  • Imputation

  • Statistical regression models including continuous and categorical outcome variables

  • Statistical analysis of data from longitudinal studies and randomized controlled trials

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the candidate:

 

Knowledge

  • can critically reflect regarding strengths and limitations with respect to research designs

  • be aware of the issue of missing data and knows how to deal with missing data

  • can perform regression analysis

  • can critically reflect on strengths and limitations in different statistical approaches

 

Skills

  • is aware of sample size and power calculations issue

  • can plan, conduct and interpret data from regression analysis in randomized controlled trials and longitudinal studies

 

General competence

  • has an overview of type od study designs and independently plan, analyze, and interpret own and others results from regressions analysis

 

Examination requirements

Participation in compulsory lectures as stated in the course pamphlet.

 

Teaching methods

Lectures combined with practical statistical exercises in a computer lab. Examples of analysis of data will to a great degree be connected to the faculty¿s on-going or planned research projects.

Assessment methods and criteria

Individual 14-days home examination. The examination will be assessed as pass/fail.
