Key topics in mathematics at the primary level. Discussions of issues related to learning and teaching of mathematics in primary schools, with emphasis on initial training. Practical facilitation of varied mathematics teaching adapted to every pupil, also including the use of digital tools and online resources.
The subject in practice
The teacher as both mediator and supervisor. Develop skills as described above in the learning outcomes. Sharing-experience in the aftermath of the internship.

SKILLS
After completing the course, the student can

plan, implement and evaluate mathematics education for all pupils in primary school

explain the role of language learning of mathematics and show practical skills in oral and written communication in mathematics

explain, set up and use spreadsheets, and can use digital web resources in teaching

use working methods that promote students' sense of wonder, creativity and ability to work systematically with exploratory activities, reasoning and argumentation in primary school
GENERAL PRACTICE

After completing the course the student can reflect didactic about teaching of core subjects in mathematics in grades 1-7, and reflect overall on students' overall learning situation - and thus be more than just a math teacher
Examination requirements
The student must have approved practice, and other compulsory parts of the course (as stated at the start of the course). For single-standing students, requirements for passing practice are replaced by requirements for passed didactic work.
Teaching methods
Communal Lectures, seminars hours, work in small groups. It is included 20 days practice for primary school student teachers. Single Subject Students will perform a didactic work of similar scope as practice. Teaching methods include working with digital tools. The requirement for a minimum of 70% attendance and requirements for submissions and tests (given at baseline). Single-student students are exempted from the requirement of 70% attendance, but must attend compulsory submissions and tests, as well as what is required to complete compulsory submissions.The course has an expected workload of around 400 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
Individual oral examination. Graded.
