Course contents

The course has a strong focus on material and object-culture and will raise questions connected to materiality and objects’ function and value from a sustainable perspective. The creative process will include elements such as the poetic function, storytelling, defamiliarisation, deconstruction and rupture.

Immersion within a field relating to a specific field of objects or materials will be looked at in a traditional context. This will give rise to challenges and possibilities within the student's work in contemporary art expression.

Relevant theory from fields such as form culture, crafts, design and conceptual art will be taught and is crucial for the critical evaluation of the student's own works and other peoples work practice.
