  • Agile systems development versus plan-driven development

  • Implementation and use of system development methods, their development and characteristics

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • comprehend strengths and weaknesses of different types of systems development methods

  • suggest adaptations in a given project

  • understand the connection between processes and technical and social results

  • assess one's own and others systems development practice as compared to published research

  • know important systems development methods and paradigms

  • understand the premises of methods and why methods are formulated the way they are

Teaching methods

There will be approx. 4 hours of lectures per week in addition to project work in groups. Standard work load for 10 ECTS is 270 hours pr. semester.

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
