Course contents

This course is a preparation for IS-304 Bachelor's thesis in information systems and introduces project implementation with a focus on agile methodology and quality assurance. The course introduces planning, estimating, executing, testing, and project follow up, and each student group will during the course enter into a collaboration agreement with a company/organisation. The students will create a professional profile on LinkedIn or other suitable platforms, and the student group should also have its own digital profiling of the project group. An event will be held where companies and students can meet to network ideas for bachelor’s projects they can collaborate on during the spring.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

  • plan the implementation of a project focusing on established methods and techniques, including the following elements: planning, estimating, executing, testing and project follow up

  • concretely define project quality and plan quality assurance measures

  • control progress and quality throughout your project

  • manage project risk

  • profile themselves and their own project group professionally, through suitable media

Examination requirements

Approved mandatory assignments. Further information will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Teaching methods

The course is project-based, and the students work in groups. Teaching will be given in the form of lectures and seminars where subject matter is presented and discussed. The expected workload is 135 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

Group folder evaluation where a selection of the mandatory assignments is included. Pass/fail grade. The same grade is given to the whole group. Further information will be given at the start of the semester.
