Students must have completed 90 ECTS to complete the course including at least one 200 subject from UiA, for example IS-200.
Course contents
The course focuses on digitalization activities in an organizational or business context where students will learn about project management, how to organizethe IT function, drivers for change and sustainability, change management, implementation and use of business systems in organizations. The topic will also discuss ethical issues for players in digitalization processes.
Students will write a project report related to a chosen topic area from the course where they collect data and analyze current IT-related issues in an organization.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the students should:

Know basic elements of IT/IS project management

Understand the positive and negative effects that digitalization poses on sustainability

Know the tasks and understand the role and responsibility of the IT function in organizations

Know different IT governance mechanisms (IT management mechanisms)

Understand the role of business systems (eg ERP) and IS as a tool for process improvement and digital business operations

Understand different system development cycles, as well as organizational changes and challenges in implementing and utilizing business systems / information systems (IS) in organizations

Teaching methods
The teaching is organized as lectures, guest lectures and group work with supervision. Examples from research literature and relevant cases are applied in the course.Students are expected to read relevant material in advance and engage actively during the lectures. Estimated work scope is 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Portfolio assesment in groups. Graded assessment, A-F.
