Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

  • have an overall understanding of Information Systems, implementation and use of Information Systems and the role of IT/IS in organizations and society

  • be able to use Information Systems and technology relevant for learning and problem solving

  • have an understanding of the role of digitalisation for sustainable development.

  • have a firm basis for further studies within IT and Information Systems

  • understand the correlation between humans, organization and digitalization

  • be able to discuss and reflect upon ethical issues related to the use of Information Systems

Examination requirements

Mandatory assignments must be passed.

Teaching methods

Lectures, group work and mandatory assignments. We will introduce ICT-based pedagogical tools for on- and off-campus activities. Campus-based activities are organised into seminar with a mix of various teaching activities. The workload is estimated to 270 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

En semesteroppgave som teller 40% av den endelige karakteren. 4 timer skriftlig eksamen teller 60% av endelig karakter. Begge deler må være bestått for å få en samlet karakter. Karakteren angis med bokstavkarakterer fra A-F. Nærmere informasjon om eksamen publiseres i Canvas.
