  • The work process in scientific articles

  • Research ethics

  • Literature search in scientific databases

  • Preparation of project description

  • Writing scientific texts

  • Formal requirements for the bachelor's thesis

  • Reference management software

  • Independant work on the bachelor's thesis

  • Critical assessment and constructive feedback on fellow students' work

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the study, the student will

  • be able to plan and carry out a project (bachelor's thesis)

  • be able to reflect upon current research-ethical issues

  • be able to search for and assess current research literature and use it to elucidate the chosen issue

  • be able to write academic texts according to scientific standards

  • be able to discuss research findings in relation to previous research and established knowledge

  • be able to give and take constructive feedback on academic work

  • demonstrate the ability of critical and analytic assessment

Examination requirements

Approved project outline. Participated in compulsory supervision in groups, included an individual presentation and being an opponent of fellow students' work.

Teaching methods

The work methods will vary between lectures, supervision in groups at seminars (compulsory), supervision and self study.

Estimated student workload is 270 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

A graded bachelor's thesis, individual or in pairs.
