  • The environment as an arena for stimulation, development and learning

  • Guidance

  • Group processes

  • Didactic relations

  • Working methods and choices related to aims

  • The special characters and requirements of various groups of users

  • User groups with special needs

  • Project practice (leader practice in school, camp, non-profit organisation, company)

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student will:

  • have aquired a didactic platform on how to coach, teach and lead various groups of users in Norwegian outdoor activities

  • be able to make use of the environment as an arena to stimulate to development, learning and sense of decorum

  • know relevant pedagogics and didactics

  • be able to teach and coach in outdoor activities

Examination requirements

  • Approved participation in compulsory parts of the course.

  • Approved practice in school /camp school / ideal organisation or company

  • Approved individual report from the project

Teaching methods

Instruction will primarily be given as lectures, group work and practical activities at Campus and nearby Campus.

All instruction related to practical training and project is compulsory. This applies to preparations and supplementary work as well.

The student's work load is estimated to 270 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

A graded three-day individual home examination.
