DAT104 Multimedia Design and DAT229 Video
Course contents
A thorough training in post-processing, work flow, 3D layers and compositing of video. You will work on techniques for keying, making compositions and tracking of objects. In addition there will be given an introduction to a modern software tool for e-learning.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the students should be able to:
- work with video effects in a relevant professional post-processing program for video.
- search and find relevant available learning resources for the used software.
- produce graphic, and define the logic that is necessary to produce a video resource that is available on the web.
Examination requirements
Students must pass the compulsory assignments in order to take the examination. Information about compulsory assignments will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory exercises and project work done in groups. The exercises take place in the computer laboratory on customized computers with specialized hardware and software. A laboratory engineer, student assistant and/or course lecturer is present. The students get training in development and use of professional software and hardware. The classes are split into groups of suitable sizes so that all students get access to necessary equipment and the help they need to solve the exercises. Some of the exercises involve group work. The problems for the students to solve are typically development of own programs.
The work load for the average student is approximately 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria
Project work done in groups. The evaluation will be conducted as an oral examination. Graded, individual assessment.
