The admission requirements for the Executive MBA is a completed bachelor¿s degree or equivalent education consisting of at least 180 ECTS and a minimum of two years relevant work experience after the completion of the education.
Relevant work experience is herein work experience within management or work experience from other positions with independent responsibilities.
Course contents
The course will give an introduction to:

The purpose and content of financial accounting, including valuation rules, cash flow statement and fundamental accounting analysis.

Corporate law and contract law, and key factors relating to legal methods.
Learning outcomes
The student is to

Understand the main lines in Norwegian accounting laws and regulations, including IFRS

Understand fundamental accounting concepts

Be able to make basic analyzes of accounting information

Understand important problems connected to the financial management of new businesses

Reproduce, describe and explain legal issues in connection to a business organization, corporate law and contract law

Understand legal methods
-
Utilize and apply these legal topics in relations to concrete practical issues
Examination requirements
Compulsory assignment must be approved.
Teaching methods
Lectures and group work in four sessions, each of them consisting of two/three day¿s sessions within one semester. Net based teaching through Canvas. Exercise works between the sessions.

Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
4- hour written individual school exam. The grades A-F are used (ECTS grading scale).
