Course contents

Starting one's own company, personal insight, team organisation, cultural development, communication, business plan, market comprehension, marketing, sales, budgeting, liquidity, financing.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course students will

  • be familiar with the requirements of starting, running and closing down a business

  • be able to explain concepts such as business idea or mission, business plan and market plan

  • have a conscious relation the impact of entrepreneurship both on personal development and on the individual as a social developer

  • understand how personal professional knowledge can form a basis for enterprises and economic growth

  • be familiar with central theories of management and organizational development

  • have acquired knowledge of financial and legal aspects related to setting up a business

Examination requirements

The compulsory attendance requirement of 80% must be met. A compulsory group assignment and a presentation at a seminar of a business plan for an enterprise must be assessed as a Pass.

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
