Based on the students' basic prior knowledge, the course provides a theoretical and practical introduction to central topics in Spanish grammar and phonetics. Furthermore, the focus is on applying the language structures in different contexts in order to be able to master different communication situations both in writing and orally.

Examination requirements
Portfolio with mandatory tasks. Further details will be given when the semester starts.
The mandatory attendance requirements must be met (70%).
Students in the teacher education: Professional supervised training must be completed and approved.
All other students: A project work must be completed and approved.
Teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, workshops and group work. Student-active forms of work and the use of digital resources for increased learning. For students in teacher education for grades 8-13, practice is included. The students' active participation in practical exercises is necessary to develop good language skills, therefore participation in parts of the course is mandatory. The scope of work is estimated at 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.
