Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent, including Introductory course in Management (Organization Theory; Organization Behavior) or equivalent.

Course contents

The aim of this course is to provide a basis for understanding managerial issues in international management. The focus of the course will be on organizational and managerial challenges in international management.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course the student should

  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of issues in international management

  • have an awareness of the challenges inherent in international management

  • be able to contribute to and have skills in designing and managing international organizations

  • be able to apply theories to analyze a firm¿s international management issues

  • be able to identify the bases for the theoretical frameworks

  • be able to demonstrate an awareness of cultural differences through class discussion and group work

Teaching methods

Lectures, group work, exercises and discussions. Students are expected to actively participate in class. All students are expected to be able to analyze cases based on the lectures and readings. estimated workload is about 200 hours.

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
