determine the strength of acids and bases based on stabilization of chemical bonds and charges
-
use chromatography to detection of molecules and calculate concentrations of these
-
know the gel electrophoresis
-
know the theory behind and application of key analytical methods for structure determination as IR, NMR, mass spectroscopy and UV / VIS spectroscopy
Examination requirements
Attendance at all mandatory laboratory exercises and laboratory lectures must be approved and all assignments must be passed, see Canvas for more information.
Teaching methods
Instruction is provided in the form of lectures, group exercises with submissions and laboratory work with written reports. Attendance is obligatory for all laboratory exercises and laboratory lectures in advance of each of these.
It is anticipated scope of work 270 hours for the course.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Offered as Single Standing Module
Yes
Assessment methods and criteria
A 4-hour written examination under supervision. Graded assessment.
