Passed 150 ECTS credits in primary and lower secondary school teacher education, including 30 ECTS credits in Pedagogy and pupil knowledge, IDR134 Physical Education and the joy of movement, IDR135 Physical Education and Pupil Diversity, and IDR207 Physical Education and Activities Theory, or equivalent.
Course contents
The course focuses on elucidating central didactical issues in physical education. The course will deal with physical education in the light of the current curriculum and will discuss planning, implementation and assessment of teaching in the subject. Analyses and reflections will deal with the pupils¿ learning outcomes from physical education seen in the light of the learning environment, the learning strategies and meaningful assessment.

Supervised professional training
100 hours of supervised practical training is included in the subject. The aim of the practical training is to further develop didactic competence in physical education, with extra focus on facilitating positive learning environment and mastering in the subject. The student is responsible for developing, leading and evaluating teaching, assessment, relationship and development work. The student will also carry out his or her planned academic development work and be supervised specifically on this in advance and afterwards of the implementation.

Be able to assess how good learning environments are developed and how the pupils' beliefs in own coping can be promoted in the physical education lessons

Teaching methods
Lectures, self study, seminar and group work, as well as work in the field of practice, individually or in groups.

Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
Individual portfolio. The portfolio comprises three assignments and the student may have three tutorials related to the assignment. The assignment must not exceed 6000 words. Collected material from observation and interviews are to be considered as attachments to the assignment. The assignment will be graded. All examination support material is allowed.
