Anatomy

Foundations of physical training

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will:

have knowledge of the structure and function of the musculo-skeletal system

have knowledge of basic exercise physiology

be able to describe and explain basic issues of everyday activity based on knowledge of training methodology

be able to apply theoretical knowledge in the planning of everyday activities using the basic training principles
Examination requirements
• Three digital multiple choice tests where 80% correct answers is required in order to sit for the exam
Teaching methods
The course is mainly online, but with some theoretical and practical teaching on campus. Students and lecturers primarily communicate via UiA's learning platform, where lessons are posted, and academic discussions take place.
Estimated student workload is 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
A graded 3-hour written examination.
