Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the student will:

possess in-depth knowledge of his/her special topic

be able to critically evaluate current research work and review the status of knowledge

be able to discuss and combine different sources of knowledge related to his/her own research work

be able to make use of different sources of knowledge to develop new knowledge related to the student¿s own research

Approved reading list
Suggestions of external examiner and reading list must be handed in to the course coordinator five weeks before the examination, at the latest.
Teaching methods
Teaching is organized as a self-study with focus on special topics within the student¿s own field of research in cooperation with supervisor.
Assessment methods and criteria
Written seven-days home examination consisting of a systematic review work of approximately nine pages. The examination text must challenge the candidate on special topics within the research field. The supervisor will formulate the examination text which will be approved by the external examiner.
The examination will be assessed as pass/fail.
