Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the students will:

have thorough knowledge of the design and research methods in their own PhD project

be able to discuss and debate various scientific approaches in relation to their project's topics

be able to discuss and debate ethical challenges in relation to the execution of their project

have thorough knowledge of the health-scientific literature in relation to the topics of their project
Examination requirements
Participation in compulsory lectures as stated in the course pamphlet.
Teaching methods
The teaching methods are chosen in relation to the content and may include, but are not limited to, individual advisement, seminars and courses.
Assessment methods and criteria
The students' assignment will be to write an abstract of the on-going and planned dissertation work, including an introduction and theory in terms of the topic, purpose, hypotheses, methodology and ethics of the dissertation. The assignment will be discussed during an examination seminar. With this discussion and suggestions for improvement as a starting point, the final assignment will be submitted afterwards. The examination will be assessed as pass/fail.
