Learning outcomes

After having completed the course students will:

  • be able to seek out and assess evidence based knowledge as the foundation for professional development and implementation of measures and procedures

  • be able to make use of knowledge about decision support tools (i.e. triage, screening etc.) in the analysis of complex and complicated clinical problems in patients/users

  • be able to independently carry out clinical assessment of conditions and alternatives of action in interaction with the patient and relatives

  • be able to strengthen professional - and quality development both within one¿s own organization and in interaction with other collaborators in different levels of service

Teaching methods

Online studies, lectures, independent study, and group work. Parts of the teaching are compulsory - see the course pamphlet for a detailed description.

The course has an expected workload of 405 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

A graded written individual take-home examination.

The examination assignment will be handed out at the beginning of the semester and the student can work on it throughout the semester. The assignment must be submitted at a set deadline.
