  • Norwegian nutritional recommendations and dietary advice

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student will:

  • demonstrate knowledge about energy and energy giving nutrients and the most important bodily functions

  • demonstrate knowledge about the most important functions of vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients

  • demonstrate knowledge on how different nutrients are digested and absorbed in the body

  • be familiar with the health authorities' recommendations on diets and nutrition

  • demonstrate knowledge of health related themes connected to food and nutrients

Teaching methods

Primarily lectures. Part of the teaching is compulsory. Further information will be given at the beginning of the semester and in the semester plan.

 

The student workload is estimated to approx. 270 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

A 2-hour written individual examination (multiple choice). Letter grades from A-F will be given.
