Course contents

This is a project course, with a subject related to one or more of the main areas on the course programme. The specific topic for the project is related to ongoing research projects in the department, or to research problems from industry partners. The project must be supported by a UiA researcher, who will also supervise the project. The main part of the project will be in the form of independent project work, carried out individually or in a group. The work can be theoretical or can be laboratory work or prototype development. System simulation and optimization is also very relevant.

The project starts with a detailed project definition with clear research goals, a literature list as well as a project plan, which shall be approved by the programme coordinator. Deliverables are project report and oral presentation, and possibly a lab prototype.

The project report shall reflect scientific method and include research problem, method, results and discussion. An abstract is mandatory.

The course can be used as a prestudy for the master's thesis project.
