Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to

Understand and be able to explain in detail the characteristics of welding and cutting methods

Understand and be able to explain in detail the properties and functionality of welding and cutting equipment

Select the appropriate welding method for a given construction taking into account basic quality and productivity requirements
Examination requirements
To get access to the written exam, students must have a minimum of 90% attendance during lectures. All interactive exercises for the module must be assessed to a pass.
Teaching methods
One week-end session on campus with lectures. Online interactive exercises and self-study.
Estimated work load for the average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.”

Higher Education Entrance Qualification including mathematics R1 and R2 and physics 1, or a pass in the preliminary course examination for engineers (which is also offered at University of Agder).
Assessment methods and criteria
A written, individual exam of two hours' duration. The exam is evaluated as "Passed" or "Not passed". A minimum score of 60% is required to pass.

The course will not be offered in 2022.
