Learning outcomes
After completed examination, the student should have basic knowledge and skills in the following topics:

water chemistry and fluid mechanics

water quality and water pollution
-
drinking water: sources, quality, demand, treatment and transport

wastewater and stormwater: collection and transport, pipeline systems and technology, management and treatment, discharge and impacts on receiving waters
-
reuse of energy and nutrients in wastewater
-
impacts of climate change and extreme precipitation in water and sanitation sector, measures to prevent urban flooding and local stormwater management
-
operation and maintenance of water and sanitation infrastructure
-
legislation and guidelines of importance in the water and sanitation sector
Examination requirements
- Approved theoretical assignments, 5 out of 6 should be approved
- Approved laboratory assignments, 2 should be approve

Higher Education Entrance Qualification including mathematics R1 and R2 and physics 1, or a pass in the preliminary course examination for engineers (which is also offered at University of Agder).
