  • Planning and building law with related provisions

  • Contract and construction law

  • Forms of contracts

  • Lean Construction principles

  • The project's definitions, phases, delimitations and organisation

  • Lean Construction - Last Planner System - involving planning methods.

  • Project management, including management of production and engineering.

  • Location-based planning

  • Progress planning, management and control

  • Uncertainty in projects and plans.

Learning outcomes

The student:

 

  • Know the laws and regulations of the building industry and be updated on law practice in the field.

  • Understands the differences between traditional project planning and management and Lean Construction.

  • Looks at the connection between this and previously taught program and specialization subjects.

  • Can apply and facilitate all the main parts of the Last Planner System and a selection of tools and methods in Lean Construction.

  • Demonstrate the logic of location-based planning.

  • Be able to use the legal competence to make reflected choices for contract and management of construction projects.

  • Project assignment, in groups, with joint characterisation, counts 45% of total grade
