Course contents
Reading of drawings and models.
- Digital production of detail drawings and Building Information Models (BIM).
- Environmental footprint calculations using EPD in BIM.
- Software for structural analysis
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to:

Understand the subject’s correlation to the other courses in the civil engineering program.

Be able to understand and describe the content of scaled drawings and 3D models.

Be able understand and describe importance and use of the dimensions of Building Information Models (BIM).

Be able to perform structural analysis and basic environmental calculations of constructions with the use of digital models
Examination requirements
Students must pass the compulsory assignments in order to take the examination.

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.”

Higher Education Entrance Qualification including mathematics R1 and R2 and physics 1, or a pass in the preliminary course examination for engineers (which is also offered at University of Agder).
Assessment methods and criteria
Project report carried out in a group. Graded assessment. Individual grade can be given according to the oral presentation. The oral presentation can adjust the grade up or down one grade.
