Prerequisites

 

All courses in the 1st and 2nd year of study must be passed to begin the practical placement course in individual-oriented environmental work VER304 in the 5th semester.

Course contents

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student must:

  • be able to apply knowledge in mapping

  • be able to communicate with people who have various disabilities

  • be able to identify both planned environmental work and innovation during the practical placement period

  • be able to perform research-based work methodology through the social educator's work model

Teaching methods

Teaching methods include field work and related tasks. Field work means working with patients, users and clients and require 90 % attendance rate.

Related tasks include the fieldwork assignment and supervised fieldwork. Please see the course brochure in Canvas for details.

Estimated work load in the course is 540 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Passed the practical placement course

Minimum 90% attendance in practice. See the subject booklet for a more detailed description. A shifting in time of the practical placement where the 90% attendance can not be fulfilled, is processed upon application.
