Course contents

Entrepreneurship / innovation, systems thinking, technology and society, technology and the environment, technology, ethics, technology and economics, interdisciplinary work in technology. Life Cycle Analysis.

Learning outcomes

On succesful completion of the course, the student should be able to

  • apply systems theory to examine and describe the relationships between technology and society issues

  • explain and reflect upon the consequences that the choice of technology within the special field has on the environment, the society and the economy

  • identify ethical issues in the use and selection of technology and reflect on ethical challenges provided by technology

  • show insight in their own special field as well as nearby areas, in a holistic perspective

  • write a report in English according to given standards

  • explain new thinking and innovation processes within their special field
