Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

be able to meet the patient¿s basic needs through observation, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of nursing

be able to apply knowledge about disease, treatment, and surroundings affect the patient¿s health condition when planning and practicing nursing

master current practical procedures

master principles of hygiene

be able to apply knowledge about pharmacology and handling of drugs

master current medical technology

show an understanding of the importance of relatives for patients¿ health and quality of life and be able to cooperate with patients and relatives

Examination requirements
Course requirements must be passed for the course to be passed.
During the 4th semester the student must also have attended the mandatory first-aid course.

Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
Clinical studies are assessed with pass/fail. There is 90 % compulsory attendance in the clinical studies and 90 % compulsory attendance in the simulation practice.
