Bachelor of Nursing or the equivalent. Students must have at least two years of professional experience and be doing clinical work related to the topic.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the student will:

have the competence to identify, assess and provide palliative care to chronically ill patients and their relatives

know how to handle challenging conversation

be able to apply knowledge and skills in various palliative methods

have knowledge about complimentary and alternative forms of relief

be able to critically evaluate the significance of their own preparedness when interacting with the chronically ill and their families

be able to evaluate and apply relevant recent research

be able to carry out a group project on a chosen issue, and to present the results

become a professional resource person who will contribute to professional development
