  • The research process and different research methods

  • Professional development and research in nursing

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

  • have planned and carried out a project (bachelor¿s thesis)

  • have insight into professional development and research in the field of nursing

  • be able to apply knowledge about the theoretical scientific basis of nursing as well as methodological and ethical research principles

  • be able to conduct systematic search for research

  • be able to employ relevant research, professional nursing concepts, theories, or models, and relevant knowledge from medical and social science to shed light on and discuss a problem

Examination requirements

  • Approved presentation of a project description in a project seminar

  • Approved analysis of a research article related to the current area of interest

  • Approved compulsory supervision

  • Production of poster based of the student¿s own bachelor thesis

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written bachelor¿s thesis. The thesis may be prepared individually or in groups of two students. The thesis is graded.
