  • Nursing to patients who are acutely and / or critically ill

  • Nursing to patients with chronic diseases

  • Nursing to patients with different somatic diseases

  • Preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative nursing

  • Pain, pain therapy, and the soothing of pain

  • Nursing to children and young people

  • E-health, health care technology, and welfare technology

  • Prevention and health promotion work

  • Rehabilitation

  • Skills training

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

  • be able to give an account of nursing to patients with acute and / or critical illness

  • be able to give an account of nursing to patients with chronic or recurrent, somatic diseases

  • be able to give an account of the characteristic features of nursing to children and young people

  • have knowledge about preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative nursing

  • have knowledge about pain, pain therapy, and the soothing of pain

  • have knowledge about nutrition in different diseases

  • have carried out current practical procedures

  • have knowledge about methods in prevention and health promotion work

  • have knowledge about rehabilitation

  • be able to reflect upon different methods in e-health, health care technology, and welfare technology

Examination requirements

  • Carried out compulsory skills training

  • Carried out required group work

  • Passed course requirements

Assessment methods and criteria

A graded 5-hour individual written examination.
