Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the students should
-
have thorough knowledge about theories on place development and communicative planning of places
-
have solid insight in current theories about participation and communication in public planning, including forms of participation, planning roles and democracy
-
have thorough insight in theories about and experiences with knowledge production, communication, power and democracy in planning for place development
-
be able to critically reflect on the significance of power and communication in planning processes and place development, including strategic planning
Teaching methods
A combination of lectures, seminars, group work and group work presentations. Estimated workload, 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Assessment methods and criteria
A 5-day individual home exam. Graded A-F.
