Course contents

Topics include:

  • introduction to law and legal method

  • the structure of business organisations

  • the company´s relation to customers, government authorities and employees

  • the company's financial situation

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

  • summarize, describe and explain legal issues related to the structure of business organizations. Moreover, how companies relate to other market participants, like customers, government authorities and co-workers so that the students will have a professional foundation and be able to participate in the planning and preparation of internal and external corporate information.

  • reproduce, describe and explain issues regarding legal methods.

  • apply these legal issues in solving practical problems.

Examination requirements

Approved compulsory assignment. More info in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Teaching methods

Lectures. The course is taught in Norwegian. Estimated workload is about 135 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

3-hour written examination with letter grades.
