Course contents

The course will provide an overview of theories about work and work inclusion, policy, strategies and methods for the Labour and Welfare Administration. The following key topics are included:

  • ¿The work line¿, workfare and activation policy

  • Young people outside education, employment and training

  • Minority perspectives and work inclusion

  • Health and work; mental health, substance abuse, reduced functional capacity

  • Employers¿ perspectives

  • Comprehensive services, interprofessional and interorganizational cooperation

 

 

Learning outcomes

After completing this course the students will have acquired basic knowledge about the workplace and cooperation with user organisations, businesses and public services on inclusion in work for people in need of guidance and supervision.

Examination requirements

Participation in compulsory classes and project seminars with presentation. Approved written report from project work.

Teaching methods

Lectures, seminars and group projects . Expected work load is about 270 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

5 hour written individual school exam. Graded assessment.
