Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student will:

  • have in-depth knowledge of preventative work within the field of drug addiction

  • have in-depth knowledge of planning and facilitation for treatment and rehabilitation

  • have in-depth knowledge of various working methods within treatment/rehabilitation/care of people addicted to drugs

  • have in-depth knowledge of user participation in the treatment of drug addiction and be able to develop suitable approaches that address the patient's needs and life situation

  • have in-depth knowledge of different working methods in relation to relatives

  • have an in-depth insight into and be able to impart knowledge of how drug addiction and addiction issues are handled in society and work life

  • have an in-depth insight into research, evaluation and quality assurance of work methods in the field of drug addiction

  • be able to develop knowledge-based measures that strengthen the opportunities and abilities for coping in own life

  • be able to reflect systematically, critically and ethically in relation to the development of own practice and different aspects of therapeutic relationships

Examination requirements

Attendance requirements must be met in the compulsory parts of the course.

Seminars are compulsory and 80 % certified attendance is required.

The tutorials focus on dilemmas and challenges based on earlier experience, which will stimulate to professional competence development. Supervision is compulsory and 90 % certified attendance is required.

Estimated student work load is approximately 405 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

The students will do written assignments which are collected in an individual portfolio, which then will be the basis for the assessment. Graded assessment.
