Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

  • know about different perspectives on health and disease

  • have knowledge about general pathology

  • have knowledge about different diseases, the pathological processes that are the cause of the development of disease, and the diagnosing and treatment of the diseases

  • have knowledge about microbiology and infection defense mechanisms

  • have knowledge about infectious diseases

  • have knowledge about pain, the physiology of pain, and pain therapy

  • have knowledge about traumatology

  • have knowledge about different groups of medication and medicamental treatment

  • be able to apply medical terminology

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Assessment methods and criteria

A graded 5-hour individual written examination.
