  • Master's 5-Year Programme in Teacher Education, level 1-7

Teaching language

Norwegian

Prerequisites

NO-155 Norwegian for Lower Primary School 1 and NO-156 Norwegian for Lower Primary School 2

Course contents

Norwegian for Primary School Level 3 provides broad knowledge about literature and language history. Further, it gives a more thorough insight into linguistic variation like for instance dialects and multilingualism, as well literary theory and didactics. It also provides a more thorough insight into subject didactical problems related to the reading and writing education, and a broader academic basis for work with formative assessment and adapting teaching for all pupils. The student will also further develop their own written skills in bokmål and nynorsk, their text competence and teaching skills.

The R&D assignment is to be an individual and research based written work where the student must formulate and reply to a chosen problem. The problem is to be related to and orientated to the practice. The assignment will be an integrated and coherent presentation of and reflection on core questions related to the professional practice.

The subject in the practice placement

Through the course the students will acquire a solid academic basis which will enable them to plan, implement and assess teaching Norwegian on level 1-7 in primary school. The students will be given practice related tasks that provide thorough training in didactic reflection. The experiences that the students obtain during the practice placement will be important in their further work with Norwegian as a subject.
