Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will:

master basic composing and arranging techniques

integrate various form principles

be familiar with the application of different instruments within popular music tradition

be familiar with different notation methods

master harmonic analysis

be able to apply a supporting instrument in relation to work with composing and arranging, in rehearsals and in accompaniment situation.
Examination requirements
Passed compulsory assignments. Information on how many assignments will be made available in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Teaching methods
Teaching takes place in groups and individual counselling. Attendance is obligatory for teaching.
Expected scope of work for the average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
An individual project with a submission of the scores and audio product.
