Learning outcomes
The student will:

be able to perform and mediate music at a high level

have gained a broad knowledge of creative and self-sufficient work methods related to the main instrument, to be able to work in professional situations

be able to master technical aspects related to the main instrument

be able to apply stylistic knowledge related to the main instrument to solo and ensemble performances

gain insight in various methodologies for studying and learning music
-
gain a broad understanding for, and the ability to recognise various musical forms and terminologies within the field of music

be able to plan and execute various projects to build a career as a professional musician
Examination requirements
Approved participation in counselling (both individual and group). Approved participation at concerts directed by University of Agder. The concert activity is scheduled by the main instrument teacher. Concert participation must be logged by the student and the main instrument teacher must approve it. The student must pass a technical examination with internal censor.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
A 45 minutes concert, to be graded by main instrument teacher and external censor who writes a written evaluation of the candidate´s performance.
Grade: Passed/Not passed
