Course contents
Course includes:
-
analysis and review of relevant works and literature of instrumental methodology
-
developing problem solving methods for common instrumental problems in different group settings
-
identifying and defining technical parameters for the instrument
-
work in a systematic manner with understanding and application of terms related to instrumental methodology
-
supervised professional training using students from schools of music and performing arts focussing on instrumental problem solving in groups
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will:

be able to define achievments, as well as instruct and teach instrumental groups

have an overview of relevant literature
-
have knowledge of mechanisms that influence instrumental group learning

be able to plan and facilitate group learning and instruction
Examination requirements
Recognized attendance for the lessons.
Teaching methods
The course is conducted through individual lessons and group lessons, as well as supervised professional training. Attending the lessons is compulsory.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
