Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students shall:

be able to work in a creative manner both alone and in cooperation with others

acquire broad knowledge about creative and independent working methods within their main areas

acquire a basic set of skills within their areas

command efficient ways of rehearsing and studying music
-
acknowledge the instruments different roles within different styles, genres and historical eras
-
be able to adjust their own expression according to different musical arenas and settings
Examination requirements

Approved participation on minimum 1 concert per main area, hosted by UiA
-
Approved compulsory lesson attendance
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria
Part 1: Main area 1 will be conducted as a 15 minute practical test either individually or in groups. The test should reflect the work done within the selected classical main instrument discipline, and is scheduled together with a teacher.
Part 2: Main area 2 will be conducted as a 10 minute practical test either individually or in groups. The test should reflect the work done within the selected secondary discipline, and is scheduled together with a teacher.
