Course contents

The students will undertake practical work in the cultural field relating to a project or specific tasks or actions within a cultural institution or company. A central part in the master specialization Project Management for Music and Stage is the practice of skills and competences in cultural project management and the work should involve the management of such projects/tasks/actions and should allow the student to apply theories and models to the work.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student should:

  • have practical and relevant experience with managing cultural project(s) in the cultural industry

  • have practical experience with working in team and within professional organizations/ companies

  • have experience with having the lead responsibility of managing a project and reflect on the choices that were made

  • be able to plan, execute, assess and reflect on a cultural project

  • relate professional issues to real and current situations in the practice activities

  • be able to apply professional knowledge in communication with both specialists and the general public

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Practice/reflection report, approx. 3,000 words that hands in the 1st of august.

Assessed on the basis of passed/fail.
