MUR107 Aesthetics, Philosophy of Science and Analysis or MUK107 Scientific Theory, Aesthetics and Analysis, or similar.

Course contents

The course is a precursor to the bachelor thesis, and must be passed before the bachelor thesis can be delivered.

Through practical projects, students will be out in the field and acquire knowledge about management of various processes and artistic projects. There are various meetings with artistic and administrative leaders, practitioners, sound and lighting technicians, set designers and musical arrangers. During the course, the students will work with the various stakeholders at different levels.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students will:

  • be able to lead a team in various processes in the implementation of artistic projects

  • collaborate with various stakeholders at various levels by a culture

  • be able to set up and understand budgets in connection with an artistic production

  • be able to communicate with various media and promote an artistic project

  • be familiar with various relevant schemes and authoring necessary applications

  • be able to relate to infrastructure by current cultural institutions

Examination requirements

  • Approved attendance to teaching

  • Approved project for bachelor thesis

Teaching methods

Training is conducted as a combination of group lessons, online teaching and private lessons with a tutor in connection with various artistic projects. Attendance is obligatory for teaching.

Expected scope of work for the average student is 27 hours per credit.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
