Mobile devices offer many new features to E-learning solutions. Mobile devices are personal; always reachable; offer connectivity wherever a user is; provide geographic position; have long operating time; offer touch and voice based interactions; include photography and video with high quality; enable augmented reality; and are small enough to be carried around.
Students learn how to enhance E-learning solutions by including meaningful components that take advantage of mobile technology. The course makes students aware of future opportunities that will be important to follow.

On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to

Discuss the fundamentals of mobile learning and explain and demonstrate the educational benefits.

Discuss the key drivers for the future potential of mobile learning 2025.

Critique articles and recommended readings related to emerging mobile learning technologies and approaches.

Use, recommend, or create online resources and portals in a variety of educational settings.

Have a deep knowledge of the drivers and change agents that will have a definitive impact on instructional design in the future.

Make recommendations regarding mobile learning initiatives, benefits, programs, and strategies for 2025.

Obtain the skills to train/teach the skills and knowledge attained throughout the course using emerging learning technologies and pedagogically effective instructional activities and approaches.
Examination requirements
Compulsory assignments must be approved in order to take the examination. Additional information will be given in Canvas at the beginning of the semester.
Teaching methods
Lectures, self-study, seminars, and exercises.
Estimated student workload: 125-140 hours.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
