Course contents
Course content is mainly related to the students self-selected topic. The student will apply the theoretical, analytical and methodological expertise they have acquired throughout the program on the thesis. The thesis should be related to the specialisation the student has enrolled in.
Learning outcomes
Through work with the thesis , the student should be able to

formulate a research question and answer this by using research methods and theory

acquire knowledge related to the field and the research context of the chosen topic

acquire knowledge and skills about how a scientific work is planned and executed

communicate results from research and development projectsboth orally and written.
Examination requirements
Approved project outline, oral presentation of the thesis (findings and process).
Teaching methods
There are written guidelines for the thesis on length, content, process and procedures etc. A copy of these guidelines is available on request from the faculty and are made available in Canvas at the start of the semester.
The master thesis is normally written individually. However, two students may apply to write the master thesis together should they wish to do so.
In connection with the thesis there will be held compulsory seminars. Students are entitled to receive guidance and will be appointed a supervisor . The relationship between student and supervisor are regulated in a contract. Expected scope of work is 1620 hours .
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
Thesis counting 100 %. Graded assessment.
